7Y1 WINS THE GOLD!
7Y1 HAS THE MOST MEMBERS OF FORM FOR COMING IN EVERY DAY IN TWO WEEKS,
99.68% ATTENDANCE……
7Y1 HAD AN AMAZING TREAT..,.SWEETS! THIS WAS BECAUSE WE ATTENDED SCHOOL THE MOST! GO 7Y1!
99.68% out of 100% now that’s a record!
We went into assembly on Tuesday morning just thinking it was a normal assembly, but then Mrs Kerwin walked onto the stage carrying a trophy full of colourful sweet wrappers. We were sat waiting nervously in our chairs hoping we would win the trophy of sweets for Best Attendance in the first two weeks.
Mrs Kerwin announced that it was 7Y……… 1!
We were all so excited to get our hands on the sweets…
Mr Chapman ran up on to the stage and was happy for us all. He grabbed the trophy off Mrs Kerwin and jumped down in excitement. We all delved our hands into the trophy and dug down to the bottom because we all know that’s where the best ones would be! There was orange, pineapple, lemon and cherry. But at the bottom there was delicious strawberry… YUM!!!!
In our next lesson, which was English, we were all silently sucking our tasty sweets. We hoped that the teacher wouldn’t notice… sucking them until there was nothing left, just a colourful wrapper and a sweet sugary taste in our mouths. With a sugar rush, we raced through English and break and then ran into History, slowly calming down.

Welcome to the Year 7Y1 Form Blog
Welcome to the 7Y1 Form Blog
My name is Mr. Chapman and I am very privileged to be the Form Tutor for 7Y1. The form consists of 28 very lively and lovely Year 7 students. They decided that they would like to run a blog so that their family and friends could keep abreast of what they were doing during and after school.
I asked for volunteers for various roles in this project and the following people were selected:
Editor - Lily
Writer #1 - HeatherWriter #2 - Ellie
Writer #3 - Carys
Photographer #1 - Alfie
Photographer #2 - Carys
We have made a great start to the school year by winning the inaugural Attendance cup with a fantastic 99.68% attendance; not only was this the best in Year 7, it was the best in the WHOLE SCHOOL!
Well done guys :-)
Toilet Twinning
As you can see in the video toilet twinning is a way to make a real difference to children and as a school, Meole Brace is aiming to raise £600 for a complete set of 10 toilets in a school in Uganda.
As a form the kids decided that they would like to get involved and so are organising a cake sale, a sponsored run and a sponsored silence, (without doubt this will be the hardest!) The kids will be nagging you for sponsorship and I urge you to give generously to this great cause.
We will keep you up to date with progress as things develop.
Until next time.
Mr. C
